Dog Grooming Assistant – Fridays Only (Mobile Dog Grooming Business)
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking Dog Grooming Assistant to join our friendly mobile dog grooming business every Friday.
This role is ideal for someone who loves dogs, enjoys working outdoors and isn't afraid of physical work. You will be assisting an experienced groomer throughout the day while travelling to clients' homes in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.
Duties include:
- Washing and drying dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Brushing and preparing coats before grooming.
- Safely handling and reassuring dogs during bathing and grooming.
- Assisting with lifting dogs in and out of the grooming van where required.
- Cleaning and sanitising the grooming van and equipment throughout the day.
- Preparing shampoos, towels and grooming tools.
- Keeping the van organised and maintaining a clean, professional workspace.
- Providing excellent customer service when interacting with clients.
About You:
- Genuine love of dogs and confidence handling them.
- Fit, healthy and capable of performing physical work, including standing for long periods and lifting dogs safely.
- Motivated, reliable and punctual.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Able to work efficiently as part of a small team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with dogs is an advantage but not essential, as training can be provided for the right person.
The position is approximately 6–7 hours every Friday. We groom around 8–10 dogs each day, so the work can be busy and fast-paced. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping people and animals, and wants to become a valued member of our small business.
